Life at Law Centre-II

Law Centre-II is one of the best law schools of the country imparting legal education in three year LL.B. mode. The Centre has been developed by top professors of law in the country, such as Professor Upender Baxi, Professor Tahir Mahmood, Professor A. K. Koul, Professor Poonam Saxena to name a few. Many of the Faculty Members at the Centre have international exposure. Law Centre-II, is an institution which was established 47 years back to provide legal education to meritorious candidates from all parts of the country at a very subsidized rate. The total fee of the LL.B. course at the Centre for three years is around Rs.15,000/-, which is just a small fraction of the fee charged by National Law Schools and private law schools. The alumni of the Centre includes Cabinet Ministers, Governors, State Ministers, many High Court Judges, top bureaucrats of the country, military officers, top most police officers, senior officers of PSUs and private companies, university Professors from several departments and others. The Centre is known for the activities conducted by it and the research done by the faculty members. The Centre publishes two journals and gives a platform to teachers, students and outside experts to publish their qualitative works.

The Centre is known for its peaceful environment and adopts zero tolerance policy for ragging, which is a punishable offence. The Centre has an Anti-Ragging Committee and Anti-Ragging Squad to ensure that there is no incidence of ragging and the students study without any fear from anyone. It is a tobacco free zone.

The Centre performs curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities through various committees. The Committees work with the help of student conveners and volunteers. The Centre inculcates values in the students to make them sensitive towards the society and encourages them to work for the needy and downtrodden by their organizing blood donation camps and organizing various legal aid programs.
